LIO MORI

Hello! Thank you very much for visiting my website. My name is Lio Mori, I’m an independent-nomad-crypto-musician, producer and composer, originally from Santa fe, Argentina. I make all kind of music; from classical music, folk, hip hop, reggae & punk; all the way up to deathmetal, grindcore, sludge and the most extreme and noisy type of music you can think off. What I love the most is experimental music and the fusion between different genres. I’m very interested in doing film scores, but I didn’t had the chance… yet.

If you’re interested in knowing a little more about me and my work, here is my bio.

Early Years

I’ve started to play guitar in 1993 when I was 13 years old, but my first band, the first time I played live and my first recorded song, were in 1995. Since then I’ve been involved in all sort of bands and projects as guitarist and singer until 2009, when I realized that I wasn’t enjoying the rehearsal time and playing live as much like I used to. That was when I decided to stay away from bands and to be more focused on being a producer and composer. Since then, I’ve started to prepare myself to become a ‘one man band’.

During those early years, I was lucky enough to play live in almost every state on my country and in some major cities in Uruguay and Brazil. I also performed live on national television in my country.

Silent Years

After 2009 I’ve started to build my home studio, I’ve studied music theory and composition, I’ve learned to play drums and piano, I’ve dived into the use of VSTi instead of ‘real instruments’, and I’ve improved my recording and mixing skills.

Over 10 years has passed since I took that path and, in the meantime, I’ve established a few businesses unrelated with music that slowly sucked off almost all my free time and delayed my project of being an ‘one man band’. During all that period, there wasn’t any release and very little music creation by me. Nevertheless, it was a time full of self development that allowed me to sketch out ideas and projects in much detail.

Just a month or so before the COVID-19 lock-down, when I was about to turn to my forties, I’ve decided that I’ll no longer postpone my projects and I dropped all my businesses. Therefore, I focused 100% in my family and my music. The silence has ended! 🙂

Blooming Years

2020 was the starting point for the most prolific musical period in my life.

Since April that year, I released more music than in my 15 previous years as musician, including:

Three singles and an album with my project O.R.C.

Two albums with my solo project τὸ ἄπειρον: a four tracks EP and a single that includes a 16 minutes long song.

And under my own name I released two four tracks EPs, one on my own and another one in collaboration with Keyz Empire, an album with 15 one minute duration songs, and a five songs EP in collaboration with four different artist from Italy, France, Turkey and Finland.

Also, on February 4th, one of my favorites bands: (həd) p.e, released “Califas Worldwide“; an album in which I had the honor to be part of with three of my songs.

I’m open to do collaborations and to join all kind of different projects, so… don’t hesitate in contact me if you want to make some noise with me or if you want me to make some noise for your project (films, short films, video games, etc).

Crypto Years

Around 2010 I stumbled across Bitcoin an the whole crypto universe. I became a big enthusiast of the idea and the possibilities of decentralized platforms, economies, societies and technologies. Since then, I’ve always trying to follow the crypto news and tendencies, but since my two kids have born and the fact I was very immersed in those businesses  that pulled me away from music, I lost a little bit the trail about the crypto-universe.

At the beginning of 2021, I started to update my knowledge about that matter. That was when I found out about NFTs and I embraced the concept in no time. By April I started, in collaboration with the visual artist Francisco Castellano, my first NFT collection called: Egyperces Darlok.

Even though I’ll keep releasing music in the ‘traditional way’ (streaming services and digital stores), from now on I’ll premiere my music in decentralized and blockchain based platforms (such as Audius, DeSo, OpenSea, etc) and, from time to time, I may release some music exclusively as NFT.

Well, that’s it for now. Thank you very much for read this till the end and for your interest on my work. Please, don’t forget to follow me and stay in touch through social media.
